Why Downing Displays?
Downing Displays brings 60+ years of exhibit design and production experience to GCS coordination, meaning it understands how infrastructure decisions affect exhibitors, not just organizers. Because we work on both sides of the show floor, we anticipate how floor-plan choices, service-system design, and installation sequencing affect the people exhibiting at the show, not just the organizer’s timeline.
General contractor services are delivered through our 10+ year membership in the Sho-Link cooperative. That membership provides access to vetted labor, established venue relationships, and production infrastructure across major U.S. convention markets, including the Las Vegas Convention Center, McCormick Place in Chicago, and the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
Our role is to:
- Align GCS coordination with the event’s production framework
- Ensure execution partners operate within a unified system
- Provide continuity between planning and execution
- Represent the organizer’s priorities throughout execution
For small- and mid-sized events, this combination — experienced production oversight and a proven cooperative execution network — means coordinated GCS without the cost structure of a large general contracting firm.
