Recognizing Corporate Donors with Custom Museum Architecture
The National Museum of the United States Air Force is the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world. Located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio, this museum stretches across 3 massive hangers.
The museum recently added a $40 million fourth hanger dedicated to the Presidential and Space galleries. Downing Displays was honored to design and fabricate several components of the new permanent collection of presidential aircraft. Aligning with the history of the featured aircraft, Downing Displays created two large replicas of the Air Force One and Space Shuttle tailfins, which balanced the recognizable brand of each aircraft while incorporating the Boeing and Lockheed Martin identification.
